Wisting Oilfield Partnership Awards Engineering Contract for Production Vessel Topsides

09:42 AM EDT, 10/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The partnership for the Wisting oilfield development in the Barents Sea awarded Aibel a front-end engineering and design contract for the topsides of the project's production vessel, following a competitive tender. The contract also covers further design maturation to support a decision on project execution, along with an option for engineering, procurement and project management, Wisting co-licensee Equinor (EQNR.OL) said Thursday. A separate contract to fabricate the topside modules will be awarded at a later stage. Equinor Energy holds a 42.5% interest in Wisting, while Aker BP (AKRBP.OL) owns 27.5%. Norwegian state-owned Petoro has a 20% stake, and Inpex Idemitsu Norge holds the remaining 10%.
