Redeia Unit Hires Nexans as Preferred Supplier for Spanish Project

(RED.MC) unit Red Eléctrica selected cable manufacturer Nexans (NEX.PA) as a preferred supplier for the Mallorca-Menorca 3 interconnection project in Spain's Balearic Islands, according to a Thursday release. The deal covers a six-month engineering phase for a new 132-kilovolts heating, ventilation, and air conditioning cable link between Mallorca and Menorca, which will define the foundation for a future engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract. Nexans will conduct engineering activities for a comprehensive cable system incorporating both subsea and land cable infrastructure.
