AB SKF walked into its Q3 2026 release with the stock at SEK269.5 after a flat month and only a modest lift over the last quarter. The headline this time is profit power. Basic earnings per share reached 3.74 SEK and net income from continuing operations climbed to SEK 1.8b, even as total revenue for the quarter registered SEK 17,467m after the automotive carve out.
The share price barely budged into the print. That muted move sits awkwardly against a report where margin progress, rather than top line size, is doing the heavy lifting.
Like the look of AB SKF’s profit punch but uneasy that the topline sits at SEK 17,467m after the carve out and feels less exciting than the margin story? Earnings tell part of AB SKF's story, but investors who care about what they are really paying often focus on the cash that actually comes through the door. When you line up AB SKF's cash flows against the current share price, the stock could be a hefty 32% undervalued.
The bullish pitch says AB SKF can use cost savings and separation to raise earnings quality, not just size.
"Cost programs such as rightsizing and the completed world class manufacturing initiative are already feeding through, with SEK 190m of quarterly savings and a targeted SEK 2b annual run rate by 2027."
Q3 points in that direction. Rightsizing savings reached about SEK 350m in the quarter, and management now expects the SEK 2b annual run rate by the first half of 2027, roughly six months ahead of plan. Industrial adjusted operating margin at 16.3% and Bearings at 18.8% show those efforts are already visible in profit quality, not just on paper.

Bears worry AB SKF’s separation work will leak value into one off costs and weaker profitability.
"The planned separation and listing of the Automotive business in Q4 2026 introduces execution risk around IT cutovers, legal restructuring and asset transfers, which could lead to higher than expected dissynergies and weigh on group operating margins and earnings."
Q3 does not yet validate that concern. Industrial adjusted margin of 16.3% landed higher year on year, despite some separation related production disturbances and items affecting comparability of SEK 67m. Cash flow covered those costs, leverage stayed low, and no guidance cut flagged spin related overruns so far.
AB SKF shows how margin work can reshape a quarter without much share price reaction. The real opportunity could sit in stocks that appear misaligned with their underlying cash engines.
