10:14 AM EDT, 10/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nokia (NOKIA.HE) is integrating artificial intelligence-radio access network technology into live networks, taking a step closer toward commercial deployment, as part of its partnership with US semiconductor giant Nvidia (NVD.F). The Finnish telecommunications equipment maker said Wednesday the parties are now applying AI within the 5G signal-processing chain. Britain's BT Group (BT-A.L), Germany-based Deutsche Telekom (DTE.F), Finland's Elisa (ELISA.HE), and France-based Orange (ORA.PA) are among the European operators involved in the deployment, with BT planning a deployment of a live-network trial in Birmingham in 2027, with a similar timeline for Elisa in Helsinki. Nokia and Nvidia will also jointly develop a sovereign agentic AI platform for telco autonomy.
