Multiple Insiders Sold Knight Therapeutics Shares Presenting Weak Signs For Investors

Simply Wall St·10/21/2026 10:12:29
Listen to the news

Knight Therapeutics Inc. (TSE:GUD) shareholders may have reason to be concerned, as several insiders sold their shares over the past year. Knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more helpful when evaluating insider transactions, as insider selling can have various explanations. However, when multiple insiders sell stock over a specific duration, shareholders should take notice as that could possibly be a red flag.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Knight Therapeutics Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Independent Director, Robert Lande, sold CA$336k worth of shares at a price of CA$8.40 per share. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of CA$11.45, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price. This single sale was just 16% of Robert Lande's stake.

In total, Knight Therapeutics insiders sold more than they bought over the last year. Insider Ownership

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Knight Therapeutics insiders own 23% of the company, currently worth about CA$260m based on the recent share price. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
