Taiwanese Regulator Blocks Delivery Hero's Sale of Foodpanda Business to Grab

06:04 AM EDT, 10/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Delivery Hero's (DHER.F) proposed sale of its Foodpanda Taiwan unit to Grab Holdings' (A6I.F) A2G Holdings failed to secure regulatory clearance from the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission. The German online food delivery company said Wednesday that it has the right to appeal the decision and that the agreement with Grab has appropriate protections, including a break fee arrangement. In a statement sent to MT Newswires on Wednesday, Grab said it is "disappointed" with the regulatory outcome. "Grab's core business across Southeast Asia remains robust. We will continue to focus our capital and resources on executing our growth roadmap and empowering communities across our regional footprint," it added.
