Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) rose more than 2% in after-hours trading Tuesday on news that Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) CEO Elon Musk expects to bring thousands of Nvidia chips online every month through year-end, which Futurum Group CEO Daniel Newman said shows the chipmaker’s projections playing out.

SpaceX Is Bringing 200,000 Nvidia GPUs Online

Musk said on SpaceX’s third-quarter earnings call on Tuesday that the company is “tracking to be able to bring roughly 200,000” Nvidia GB300s online per month for the rest of the year, with next year “primarily Vera Rubin compute.”

It is “absolutely insane” to supply the power and cooling to turn on 220,000 GB300s a month, he said, “but that is actually what we’re doing right now, and that pace will obviously accelerate next year.”

He is “fairly confident” of adding an incremental 10 gigawatts of compute in 2027, and said SpaceX plans a 440,000-chip Vera Rubin training cluster by the end of the second quarter.

Analysts React to Nvidia’s Move

Newman said on X that Nvidia was “ripping on news that what it has said would happen is in fact happening.”

Earlier this Month, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that new chip orders are arriving “almost weekly and daily,” with customers asking for more supply.

Futurum’s Shay Boloor said the pace means about 600,000 GPUs in the fourth quarter from SpaceX alone.

SpaceX Spending Ramps With the Buildout

Musk said earlier this year that the company will use Nvidia hardware exclusively to build its data centers. It is also reportedly seeking about $40 billion in loans and debt, led by Apollo Global Management Inc., to buy Nvidia chips, Reuters reported, citing the Financial Times.

SpaceX’s third-quarter revenue came in at $14.58 billion, beating estimates of $12.74 billion, according to Benzinga Pro. It reported earnings of 35 cents per share beat estimates of 12 cents.

Price Action: Shares of Nvidia closed 0.29% lower on Tuesday at $216.47 and rose 2.09% to $221 in extended trading. SpaceX’s stock rose 8.06% to $159.70 in after-hours trading on the results announcement.

Benzinga Edge rankings indicate Nvidia’s stock has a Momentum score in the 78th percentile and a Value score in the 6th percentile.
