05:44 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Wärtsilä (WRT1V.HE) widened its role in seven power plant projects for Brazilian energy company Origem Energia, according to a Monday release. In addition to supplying engines, the Finnish marine and energy technology group will now also provide process engineering, procurement, and construction works. The projects, awarded in Brazil's 2026 Reserve Capacity Auction under two contracts, will provide 371 megawatts of flexible power generation capacity. The plants will use 36 Wärtsilä 34SG balancing engines and run on Origem Energia's onshore natural gas resources.
