Savannah Resources Gets Portuguese Environmental Nod for Barroso Lithium Project Bypass Road

04:42 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Savannah Resources (SAV.L) received a positive conditional environmental impact decision for the proposed Boticas bypass road in Portugal, marking a key step toward developing its Barroso lithium project. The lithium developer said Monday that Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente's regulatory approval satisfied one of the conditions attached to the lithium project's own environmental impact decision. The 16.5-kilometer bypass road is estimated to cost $61 million and will connect the project to the A24 highway. Savannah Resources said the lithium project can be commissioned and operated before the bypass road is completed.
