Zealand Pharma Says Multiple Doses of Ion Channel Blocker Safe, Well Tolerated in Phase 1 Study

01:55 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Zealand Pharma's (ZEAL.CO) investigational ion channel blocker ZP9830 was safe and well tolerated in the multiple ascending dose part of a phase 1 clinical trial. The Danish biotechnology company said Monday that multiple doses were administered to 32 healthy volunteers in the study, with no serious or severe adverse events or dose-limiting safety findings after a four-week treatment period and a safety follow-up until day 41. ZP9830 is now being evaluated in a phase 1b trial for treating plaque psoriasis, with Zealand Pharma also planning a phase 2 trial in another autoimmune disease in the first half of 2027.
