If this Endeavour Mining stock was on your watchlist instead of in your portfolio, the result may feel like a missed shot. For Endeavour Mining shareholders, the return over the past year was 28.5%, including dividends. If you were deciding back on 16 October 2025, could the debate over how much profit growth the business might squeeze from higher gold prices and new West African projects have helped you spot that potential before it showed up in your brokerage account?
Endeavour Mining has already moved. Pinpoint other ways to investigate the theme among 36 elite gold producer stocks.
The shares cost CA$65.68 at the start of the period, and Endeavour Mining holders were effectively choosing between two very different stories about where value might sit.
On the optimistic side, one narrative pointed to a Fair Value of CA$156, a price implied by assumptions such as 50.9% revenue growth and a 9.5% profit margin over 5 years if gold reached US$4,000 per ounce.
A more cautious storyline suggested a Fair Value of CA$54.33, based on expectations that revenue could decline 2.9% while profit margin sat at 17.8% over a 3 year stretch, with heavy West African exposure seen as a key risk.
The clearest new datapoint for Endeavour Mining was the revenue figure. Quarterly sales reached US$1,220.3m versus US$1,008.2m a year earlier, which supported the optimistic story about higher gold prices feeding the top line. Net income moved differently. Profit slipped from US$270.9m to US$250.8m and net margin fell from 26.9% to 20.6%, which gave fresh support to the cautious case on profitability risk.
The lesson is simple. When a thesis leans on margin expansion, do not just watch revenue. Track the reported net margin and check whether each new quarter actually moves that percentage toward the forecasted level.
Endeavour Mining now trades at CA$78.83, with this Narrative’s Fair Value sitting below that level. This points to a more cautious stance on what the current quote already builds in.
To line up with today’s price, you would need to believe the multiyear project build, country risks and tax pressure still allow strong cash generation to continue.
"The multiyear build of the Assafou project in Côte d’Ivoire exposes Endeavour to execution slippage, permitting delays on the exploitation permit and potential cost escalation in a tight construction and contractor market. These factors could compress future returns on invested capital and delay earnings growth."
