Forvia has been busy in 2026, agreeing to sell its Interiors unit for €1.82b, updating investors on improving margins, and locking in new battery orders through the HELLA arm. Investors who held Forvia from the start of the year are down 35.7%, including dividends. If you had put money to work on 1 January, how should this mix of portfolio reshaping, cost control and EV electronics wins influence your expectations from here?

The shares cost €13.62 at the start of the period, and anyone looking at Forvia then was really choosing between two sharply different stories.
The bullish narrative pointed to a Fair Value of €27.64, an implied upside based on assumptions like revenue growing 3.1% a year and profit margins improving to 3.1%, supported by cockpit digitalization and software ecosystems.
The bearish case argued for a Fair Value of €8.20, reflecting worries that traditional interiors would fade as EV adoption rose and high debt and regulatory costs would keep pressure on profitability.
Forvia’s updated H1 2026 report showed revenue falling to €10,508.6m while the loss narrowed to €62.2m and net margin improved from a loss of 2.5% to a loss of 0.6%. That shift supported the optimistic argument on cost control and margin repair, but profitability remained negative, which challenged the more upbeat earnings assumptions. Overall, the evidence was mixed.
The key question was whether margin repair would follow portfolio moves and cost programs. When you look at another supplier, track revenue, absolute profit and net margin separately against any claimed turnaround in efficiency.
Today Forvia trades at €9.02, after a 35.7% loss from the start of the year. The selected Narrative’s Fair Value sits above that price, based on a view that portfolio reshaping and electronics orders can lift earnings quality and cash generation.
The fall only looks like an opportunity if you believe Forvia can keep cutting leverage and turn its Lighting and electronics mix, China pipeline and defense work into steadier margins. That is the concrete bet any buyer at today’s price would be weighing.
"Some analysts expect Forvia to convert its portfolio reshaping, cost programs and electronics initiatives into higher quality earnings and stronger cash generation that are not yet fully reflected in sentiment. The key consideration is continued execution on deleveraging and margin improvement programs so that the effects of the Interiors sale, cost savings and higher value electronics content show through consistently in reported results."
