Wedbush Securities’ famed analyst Dan Ives believes the recent weakness in Nvidia (NVDA) amid a broader artificial intelligence (AI) rout is a buying opportunity for long-term investors. He reiterated NVDA stock at “Outperform” this morning and stuck with his bullish $300 price objective, which represents potential upside of a whopping 38% from current levels.
Despite the recent selloff, Nvidia shares are up about 15% versus the start of this year.
Ives’s bullish argument starts with what is limiting Nvidia’s growth: the availability of its products. According to Ives, customers are still competing for computing capacity, even as investors question whether higher borrowing costs could derail AI infrastructure spending.
Nvidia’s preliminary outlook calls for about 70% sales growth in fiscal 2028, with supply expected to remain a bottleneck through that period.
Ives said a substantial portion of demand rests on contracts and spending supported by major cloud companies’ cash generation. That provides a stronger foundation than financing headlines alone might suggest.
All in all, Wedbush’s bull case for buying the retreat in NVDA shares rests on continued customer commitments, rather than expectations that credit conditions will quickly improve.
Additionally, Ives recommends buying Nvidia stock because the company can capture more spending from each artificial intelligence infrastructure project.
Its position encompasses networking, complete computing systems and CUDA software, alongside the graphics processors that made it central to the industry. That matters as customers expand from training models into reasoning, autonomous agents, and robotics. In Ives’s view, those applications create opportunities for Nvidia to deepen its role across the infrastructure supporting AI.
NVDA has a history of gaining more than 4% on average in October and a much higher 7.59% in November — a seasonal trend that further improves its near-term appeal.
Other Wall Street analysts are just as bullish, if not more, on NVDA stock heading into 2027.
The consensus rating on Nvidia sits at “Strong Buy” currently, with the mean price target of roughly $327 indicating potential for significant further gains over the next 12 months.
