Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) announced a partnership allowing developers to run the Muse Spark Open model on Apple desktop computers. Following this, Yorkville Ives partner and senior managing director Dan Ives stated that the hardware integration will add $75 per share in incremental value to Apple’s stock.
Apple and Meta’s collaboration brings the Muse Spark Open platform to Mac systems. Ives told CNBC that the agreement is “just the first of what could be many partnerships between the two, because they both need each other.”
Referencing Apple’s new CEO John Ternus, Ives said the company’s willingness to work with Meta shows it is ready to "rip the Band-Aid off" and move forward, calling the deal the "start of what could be just a massive collaboration" between Apple and Meta.
Ives projected that Apple will serve as the “toll collector on the consumer AI highway” due to its current hardware footprint. “When you have 1.5 billion iPhones and 2.5 billion iOS devices, that’s the golden install base,” Ives said.
“We estimate 20% of consumers around the world will ultimately access AI through an Apple device,” he added.
Ives concluded that this hardware ecosystem, combined with Turness’s leadership, means “$75 per share incremental is what AI and monetization adds to the Apple story.”
Ives stated that he calculates that “15% of services revenue incrementally is going to be AI-driven over the coming years.” Furthermore, he noted in his post that the “consumer AI Revolution puts Meta and Apple in a great position to monetize.”
Regarding broader AI infrastructure and companies like CoreWeave Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWV), Ives said memory chip demand currently outpaces supply “13 to 1,” dismissing recent sector anxieties as “buying opportunities.”
