Nexgram redesignates Cheang Soon Siang as group MD

PETALING JAYA: Nexgram Holdings Bhd has redesignated its executive director, Cheang Soon Siang, to the position of group managing director.

According to the company’s annual report, Cheang (58) was appointed executive director of the company on Feb 7, 2024.

Cheang began his banking career in 1987 and has served in several financial institutions including Southern Bank Bhd, Orix Leasing Bhd, Oriental Bank Bhd and EON Bank Bhd.

“Throughout his banking tenure, he was involved in credit evaluation, lending, risk management, project financing, cash-flow and working-capital management, as well as the restructuring and recovery of credit facilities across corporate, commercial, and consumer sectors,” said Nexgram.

He left the banking industry in 2007 to join AIA Bhd as unit manager and later served as Estate Planner Manager at RHB Trustees Bhd

Cheang subsequently became a shareholder and executive director of Naim Indah Corp Bhd, a property development company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia, where he served until 2017.
