08:14 AM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Union is reportedly seeking relief for ASML Holding's (ASML.AS) supplier, Sindlhauser Materials, from the Chinese government and plans to lift sanctions over an unnamed Chinese company in return, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the discussions. Beijing originally targeted the German precision-manufacturing company in July alongside other European entities as retaliation for the EU's restrictions on Chinese suppliers accused of aiding Russia's military. Without access to essential Chinese rare earths and mineral inputs, Sindlhauser faces severe insolvency risks if Beijing's retaliatory trade restrictions are not lifted soon. The European Commission and Sindlhauser did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
