Erie, Pennsylvania-based Erie Indemnity Company (ERIE) serves as the managing attorney-in-fact for the subscribers of the Erie Insurance Exchange in the United States. The company has a market capitalization of $10.3 billion and provides issuance and renewal services, sales-related services, including agent compensation and sales and advertising support services, and more.

ERIE is expected to release its Q3 2026 earnings soon. Ahead of the event, analysts expect the company’s EPS to be $3.41 on a diluted basis, down 2.6% from $3.50 in the year-ago quarter. The company has exceeded Wall Street’s EPS estimates in two of its last four quarters, while missing on two other occasions.

For fiscal 2026, analysts project the company’s EPS to be $12.55, up 37.2% from $9.15 in fiscal 2025. Moreover, its EPS is expected to rise by roughly 2% year over year (YoY) to $12.80 in fiscal 2027.

Erie shares have fallen 30.7% over the past 52 weeks, lagging behind the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 16% rise and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLF) 2.6% rise during the same time frame.

ERIE pays an annual dividend of $5.85, with an annual dividend yield of 2.63%. The company has also paid consecutive dividends for 35 years, which is impressive. However, the company’s annual yield falls below the sector average for the financial services sector, which comes in at 2.77%. Additionally, ERIE’s cash dividend payout ratio also comes in at 47.62%, way below the sector average of 26.96%. Despite having an impressive history of dividend growth and payment, its dividend fundamentals fall short of being above the mark.

Analysts are somewhat bullish on ERIE, with the stock having a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Among the three analysts covering the stock, one suggests a “Strong Buy,” and two suggest a “Hold” for the stock. Moreover, ERIE’s average analyst price target and Street-high price target of $73 also fall below the current price levels.
