10:11 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, urged passengers to directly contact airlines and confirm their flight status before going to the airport, according to a travel alert on Thursday. The advisory comes after several explosions were heard in Riyadh, including one at the international airport, the Associated Press reported, citing a witness. Yemen's Houthis claimed the attack on the airport with a ballistic missile, which caused damage and disrupted air traffic, according to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree in a post on X.
