Listen to the news

Insiders who acquired US$125.0k worth of Invivyd, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:IVVD) stock at an average price of US$2.50 in the past 12 months may be dismayed by the recent 16% price decline. Insiders invest with the hopes of seeing their money grow in value over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth US$36.4k, which is not what they expected.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Invivyd Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The Independent Director Kevin McLaughlin made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$125k worth of shares at a price of US$2.50 each. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$0.73 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock when an insider has bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price. Kevin McLaughlin was the only individual insider to buy during the last year.
