The Zhitong Finance App learned that on Tuesday, Netlist (NLST.US) stock price rose, once surging 18%. As of press release, the stock's gains had narrowed to 13% to $6.37. Previously, Micron Technology (MU.US) agreed to pay 600 million US dollars to obtain a five-year license for Netlist's patent portfolio, while the two sides will end all unresolved legal litigation.

Under the agreement, Micron's authorized patents cover technologies such as server DIMMs (dual in-line memory modules) and high-bandwidth memory (HBM). Micron will pay Netlist $30 million each quarter starting in the fourth quarter of 2026 until the third quarter of 2031.

Netlist CEO C.K. Hong said the agreement with Micron further validates the value of the company's AI memory technology. The company will continue to protect its intellectual property rights while continuing to invest in the development of next-generation products.

In addition to the patent licensing agreement, Netlist also signed a securities purchase agreement and share lock-up and release agreement with Micron. According to the relevant arrangement, Micron purchased 10 million shares of Netlist for $1 million.

Sales and transfer restrictions on the above shares will be lifted in stages. Among them, on the first, second, third, and fourth anniversaries after the issuance of shares, 20% of shares will be lifted each year, and the remaining shares will be unrestricted on the fifth anniversary.

The agreement not only brought Netlist $600 million in patent licensing revenue, but also settled all unfinished legal proceedings between the two memory chip companies at once. Boosted by this news, Netlist shares rose 18% at the beginning of the Tuesday session.
