The government of Nigeria's Central Plateau state said on the 3rd that a traffic accident occurred in the state on the 2nd, resulting in 20 deaths and 5 injuries. The Plateau state government said a total of 4 vehicles collided on a highway in the state. Preliminary investigations revealed that some vehicles were out of control due to malfunctioning brakes. The injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment. An eyewitness said that a bus carrying passengers lost control while going downhill and hit other vehicles, one of which was a truck.
