Berenberg: Talanx 'Likely' to Boost FY27 Net Profit Target at Q3 2026 Results

06:33 AM EDT, 10/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Berenberg forecasts that Talanx (TLX.F) will "likely" raise its full-year 2027 net profit outlook during its third-quarter 2026 earnings report, as analysts noted a potential opportunity for the German insurer to enter the blue-chip DAX index. Ahead of Talanx's quarterly report scheduled for Nov. 12, the research firm said Thursday it expects the upgrade because the insurer's 2026 net profit target of "significantly more than" 2.7 billion euros already tops its original 2027 goal of 2.5 billion euros. Analysts note that market expectations for 2027 net income currently sit at 3 billion euros. In the same research report, Berenberg foresees a path for Talanx to join the DAX index, even though its current 7.3 billion-euro free-float market cap falls short of the fast-entry threshold. "One way to achieve the free-float market cap criterion for fast entry would be a scenario - which we consider highly unlikely - in which Talanx's 77% shareholder, HDI, were to decide to place a larger stake in the market. The fast-entry months are December and June. The other main entry method (regular rebalancing) happens twice a year, in March and September, and might help Talanx to gain inclusion, as exiting the DAX is easier, leading to a replacement race. There are two DAX members currently in or close to that potential demotion zone (ranked 48th or worse), which means that Lufthansa [LHA.F], ranked 35th, and Talanx, ranked 37th, could potentially enter the DAX in March. While this is not core to our Buy case for the stock, Talanx's improving free-float market cap does help make the stock more relevant for investors, which is positive in our view," the note said. Berenberg also has an unchanged price target of 163 euros on the stock.
