The US Energy Information Administration said that due to supply disruptions in the Middle East, US propane exports rose in the first half of 2026, and exports to India and other markets continued to remain well above the five-year average. The EIA said in a report on Thursday that, based on record production and exports to India and other South Asian countries, exports increased 11% year-on-year in the first half of the year, reaching 2 million barrels per day. Exports in April set a record of 2.1 million barrels per day, “driven by rising demand for petrochemical products and importers seeking alternatives to interrupted Middle Eastern supplies.”
