08:34 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Berenberg noted that Eli Lilly's (LLY.SW, LLY.F) positive phase 2 trial results for its investigational drug combination of eloralintide and tirzepatide, or EloraTZP, place the company in a strong position to maintain its lead in the weight-loss market. "Yesterday, Eli Lilly presented P2 data for eloraTZP, a combination of eloralintide (amylin) and tirzepatide (GLP-1/GIP), in patients with obesity and diabetes. The combination achieved improved weight loss with broadly similar tolerability compared to Lilly's Zepbound. P3 trials for co-formulated eloraTZP (one injection) will start later this year," analysts said in a note published Thursday. "Lilly continues to extend its lead in this market with Zepbound/Mounjaro today, and its breadth of pipeline leaves the company in a strong position to retain this dominance, in our view." The research firm also identified several upcoming pipeline catalysts for the pharmaceutical giant, including US regulatory approval for Foundayo in diabetes, expected by the end of 2026, and the phase 3 data readout for the Inluriyo EMBER-4 trial in adjuvant breast cancer over the next 12 months. The buy recommendation on the stock and price target of $1,400 were both reaffirmed.
