03:07 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Europa Oil & Gas (EOG.L) said the long-stop date for completing a 40% interest farm-out in the EG-08 production sharing contract offshore Equatorial Guinea was extended to Oct. 30 as Chinese regulatory approvals take longer than expected. The deal involves the oil and gas exploration company's associated company Antler Global and Fuhai (Beijing) Energy, a wholly owned unit of Fuhai Group New Energy Holding, according to a Wednesday filing. Europa owns 42.9% of Antler Global, which in turn will hold a 40% working interest in the asset and remain as operator. The deal has received approval from Equatorial Guinea's Ministry for Mining and Hydrocarbons Department but remains subject to Chinese outbound investment approval, which has been delayed by new rules that took effect July 1. Europa expects to receive the approvals "in the near future," and continues to anticipate drilling the Barracuda-1 well in the first half of 2027.
