Wärtsilä Wins Contract to Supply Engines for Australian Power Plant

01:37 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Wärtsilä (WRT1V.HE) secured a contract to deliver its 46TS engines for a 300-megawatt reciprocating engine power plant in Australia. The facility, expected to become the country's largest-ever reciprocating engine power plant, will operate 13 Wärtsilä 46TS-SG gas engines, according to a Wednesday release. The marine and energy industry technology company is scheduled to deliver the engines in early 2029, with the plant expected to be fully operational in 2030.
