11:50 PM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Barclays (BARC.L) informed its employees that there will be a transition period prior to the full implementation of its tightened hybrid working policy, London's Financial Times reported Tuesday, citing a same-day memo to the bank's employees. The British lender told its staff that the transition period will be until the start of 2027 as opposed to the original implementation date of Oct. 5, 2026, the report noted. The memo came after employees voiced opposition to the order to work in the office for at least three days every week, with the Unite union requesting additional payments for workers and an exception for staff with longer commutes. Barclays did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
