Tesla (TSLA.US) Europe's FSD next country: Croatia approved, and the EU-wide voting was postponed until December as early as December

The Zhitong Finance App learned that Tesla (TSLA.US) said on Tuesday that its supervised FSD (fully automatic driving) system has been approved by Croatia and is expected to be rolled out in the country soon, making it another European country to approve the technology. The Dutch regulator RDW approved the system in April, and several countries, including Belgium, followed suit. Neighboring Slovenia also approved it earlier this month.

The RDW also proposed approval of the software throughout the European Union. But a road safety group and several EU member states have raised concerns that the system may be speeding.

This issue has become one of the most controversial aspects of Tesla's push for FSD to land in Europe. Tesla said that FSD's promotion in Europe is critical to boosting sales and regaining market share in the context of increased competition from Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers.

The EU-wide promotional vote originally scheduled for October has previously been postponed, and the next possible decision window is no earlier than December.

EU-wide promotion requires “specific majority” support, that is, 15 of the EU's 27 member states, and these countries represent 65% of the EU's population.
