Roche to End Future Development of Obesity Drug Emugrobart

10:10 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Roche (RO.SW) will end all future development of emugrobart and return all rights previously licensed to it to Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., after development of the drug for obesity was discontinued. The decision followed a comprehensive assessment of all available data including an interim analysis of the ongoing phase 2 Gyminda trial that points to the drug resulting in clinically meaningful weight loss being "unlikely," Chugai said Monday. The trial evaluated the subcutaneously administered emugrobart in combination with GLP-1/GIP receptor agonists for obese or overweight patients.
