Former HKEx Chairman Xia Jiali and Zhou Songgang, as well as the management of Land, an exhibition strategy partner, also attended.

After kicking the gong to kick off the exhibition, Hong Kong Stock Exchange Chairman Tang Ka-shing and Legislative Council Financial Services Member Li Weihong shared anecdotes about their past participation in Hong Kong's capital market and shared anecdotes about the transformation of Hong Kong's capital market after Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited (HKEx) began operations in the Exchange Square in 1986.

HKEx Chairman Tang Ka-shing said, “For 40 years, Exchange Square has stood at the core of Hong Kong's capital market and has witnessed the rise of Hong Kong as a leading international financial center. During this process, the Stock Exchange, its markets and market participants supported Hong Kong's economic development by connecting capital and opportunities, and connecting China with the world. The establishment of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's permanent headquarters in Exchange Square shows our confidence in Hong Kong's future, and we will continue to actively promote the development of the financial market and enhance our competitiveness.”

HKEx Group Chief Executive Chen Yiting said, “The Exchange Square is not only the home of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, but also a hub for exchanges between the market, enterprises, investors and the community. Through this exhibition, we hope to share with the public the stories, people and important moments that have shaped Hong Kong's capital market over the past 40 years. At the same time, we look forward to creating more opportunities to connect with the community and help the next generation of Hong Kong understand the development history of the Hong Kong market after the completion of the upgrade of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange headquarters, Hong Kong Finance Hall and the new museum.”

“The Central Exchange Square has been home to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since its inception, and Landmark is proud of this. Over the past 40 years, we have worked together to build an ecosystem that supports Hong Kong as an international financial center. The development process is closely linked to each other. Today, with the HKEx implementing Exchange Square as its permanent headquarters, this investment shows both parties' firm confidence and significant commitment to the future of Central and Hong Kong. We look forward to continuing to work side by side for the next 40 years.”
