Rainbow Rare Earths Enters Technical Support, Offtake MoU for Phalaborwa Project

04:54 AM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Rainbow Rare Earths (RBW.L) signed a memorandum of understanding with industrial materials producer Neo Performance Materials for its Phalaborwa project in South Africa. Under the MoU, the critical rare earth raw materials company will enlist Neo Performance Materials as the technical partner for the project's final solvent extraction separation circuit. As part of the deal, Neo will secure offtake rights for 40% of the project's purity NdPr oxide and 65% of its mixed SEG+ heavy rare earth carbonate. The move is expected to allow the company to publish a pre-feasibility study in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by a definitive feasibility study in the first half of 2027.
