AutoZone: Fiscal Q4 Earnings Snapshot

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — AutoZone Inc. (AZO) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $931.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Memphis, Tennessee-based company said it had net income of $56.05.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $54.54 per share.

The auto parts retailer posted revenue of $6.59 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.69 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $2.57 billion, or $152.55 per share. Revenue was reported as $20.34 billion.

AutoZone shares have dropped 17% since the beginning of the year, while the S&P's 500 index has increased 13%. The stock has fallen 32% in the last 12 months.
