The State Intellectual Property Office held a special press conference in Jinan, Shandong today to introduce the situation of intellectual property helping the high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin. Heng Fuguang, spokesman for the State Intellectual Property Office, explained that in recent years, along Huangjiu Province, intellectual property has given full play to the important role of intellectual property in encouraging innovation and empowering high-quality development, and has actively helped the Yellow River Basin follow the path of green development, innovation and development. As of August of this year, the number of valid invention patents and the number of valid trademark registrations along Huangjiu Province reached 910,000 and 1.074 million respectively. The average annual growth rate during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period exceeded the domestic average by 1.8 and 2.1 percentage points, respectively. There are 1,758 geographical indication products along Huangjiu Province, and 2,375 geographical indications have been registered as collective trademarks and certification marks, accounting for 1/3 of the country in total.
