Zhong Bin, director of the Solid Waste and Chemicals Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, explained that during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, the relevant regulations of the Ecological Environment Code will be thoroughly publicized and implemented, the establishment of a collaborative management system for new pollutants and environmental risk management and control systems will be accelerated in accordance with the law, focusing on strengthening collaborative management of new pollutant issues, and dynamically updating the list of key new pollutants and measures to ban and limit them, which is targeted; a number of demonstration projects for collaborative control of new pollutants will be implemented. At the same time, strengthen capacity building and support, build national and watershed new pollutant control technology centers, coordinate environmental surveys, toxicological and other hazard assessments, exposure assessments and risk assessments for new pollutants, accurately anchor new pollutants that should be controlled; and implement key technical projects for the control and prevention of new pollutants in key national research and development plans.
