Xiaomo tracks Apple (AAPL.US) supply: strong demand for iPhone 18 Pro series, rapid extension of delivery cycle

The Zhitong Finance App learned that J.P. Morgan Chase released a research report saying that in the 2nd week when the bank tracked the supply of Apple (AAPL.US) products, the delivery cycle was further extended, and the iPhone 18 Pro series increased by an average of 4 days. Compared to week 1, the iPhone 18 Pro delivery cycle increased by 16 days (the iPhone 17 Pro delivery cycle increased by 9 days from week 1 to week 2 last year), and the iPhone 18 Pro Max delivery cycle increased by 11 days (the iPhone 17 Pro Max delivery cycle increased by 7 days from week 1 to week 2 in the same period last year).

The larger extension compared to the same period last year has narrowed the delivery cycle gap the bank saw in week 1. Currently, the delivery cycle of both Pro models in the US and Europe is basically the same as the iPhone 17 series in the same period last year, and China is still the only region below the same period last year, but the gap is narrowing.

Although this means that demand for the Pro series has now surpassed the previous generation product cycle in the past few days, since the iPhone Duo didn't open pre-orders until October 16, the next key data point to watch will be the extent to which the delivery cycle will slow down after entering week 3. After that, the supply chain's feedback on production plan adjustments (usually around November) will be a more clear signal to determine the demand situation, including whether consumers will further upgrade Pro models with a price of 1199 US dollars or more.

iPhone Global Tracking: The delivery cycle for the two models has been further extended compared to mid-week, and is currently at the same time as last year

In the regions tracked by Komo, the average delivery time for iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max was 23 days and 30 days, respectively, in week 2 (19 days and 26 days in the middle of the week, 7 days and 19 days, respectively). In contrast, in the 2nd week of a year ago, the average delivery time for the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max in each region tracked by the bank was 24 days and 31 days, respectively; in the same period two years ago, the average delivery time for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max was 23 days and 29 days, respectively.

US market tracking: The delivery cycle is longer than mid-week, and both models are at the same time as the same period last year

In the US, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max delivery cycles reached 21 days and 28 days, respectively (17 days and 24 days in the middle of the week, 2 days and 22 days, respectively), which is exactly the same as the 21-day and 28-day delivery cycle for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max in the 2nd week of the same period last year, respectively.

As far as store availability is concerned, all iPhone 18 Pro versions of Komo Tracking can be picked up in stores on September 19; some Pro Max versions (silver and black) can be picked up in stores on September 19, while Burgundy (Burgundy) and Glacier (Glacier) versions cannot be picked up in stores. It's important to note that the US accounts for about 34% of iPhone shipments.

Chinese market tracking: The delivery cycle for both models has been extended, but it is still lower than the same period last year; Pro Max cannot be picked up in stores

In China, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max delivery cycles reached 27 days and 33 days, respectively (25 days and 29 days in the middle of the week, 13 and 21 days, respectively). In contrast, the delivery cycle for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max in the 2nd week of the same period last year was 30 days and 37 days, respectively.

Although the delivery cycle gap for Pro models has narrowed compared to the same period last year (currently 3 days, compared to 7 days in the middle of the week), China is still the only region where the delivery cycle is lower than the same period last year. As far as store availability is concerned, some iPhone 18 Pro versions (burgundy and black) can be picked up in stores on September 19, while Pro Max cannot be picked up in stores. It's important to note that China accounts for about 19% of iPhone shipments.

European market tracking: Similar to other regions, the delivery cycle is longer than mid-week; Germany is the same as last year, and the UK is only 1 day away

Similar to other regions, Europe's delivery cycle was further extended compared to mid-week. Among them, Germany remained the same as the same period last year, while the UK was only 1 day away. In Germany, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max delivery cycles reached 22 days and 29 days, respectively (18 days and 25 days in the middle of the week, 5 days and 16 days, respectively), which is the same as 22 and 29 days in the same period a year ago.

Meanwhile, in the UK, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max delivery cycles reached 21 days and 28 days, respectively (17 days and 24 days in the middle of the week, 9 days and 19 days, respectively), compared to 22 days and 29 days in the same period a year ago, respectively.

As far as store availability is concerned, in Germany, some iPhone 18 Pro versions (glacier color and black) can be picked up in stores on September 19; in the UK, all versions of the iPhone 18 Pro except burgundy can be picked up in stores on September 19; and in these two markets, Pro Max cannot be picked up in stores. It's important to note that Germany and the UK account for around 3% and 4% of iPhone shipments, respectively.
