New Era Energy (NUAI) stock pushed aggressively to the upside after announcing a massive 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Vistra (VST). In its press release, NUAI’s management confirmed that the agreement guarantees up to 207 megawatts of direct electricity for Phase 1 of the company’s flagship Texas data center.
Following today’s surge, New Era Energy shares are trading at more than 2x their price at the start of this year.
Under the announced deal, Vistra’s subsidiary Luminant ET Services will supply between 200 MW and 207 MW of power to Phase 1 of New Era’s Texas Critical Data Center (TCDC).
Sourced directly from VST’s adjacent 1,180 MW natural gas facility in Odessa, power delivery is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2027.
Investors are cheering NUAI stock primarily because the agreement de-risks Phase 1 development, effectively converting TCDC from planned land into fully permitted, power-contracted real estate — a crucial selling point for hyperscale AI tenants.
Crucially, a companion framework deal also grants Vistra a 5% non-voting interest in the powered facility and provides a pathway to scale the TCDC site toward its ultimate 1.4 GW capacity target.
While the PPA with Vistra is significantly bullish, New Era Energy stock is still a risky bet for the remainder of 2026. Why? Because it’s still a pre-revenue name, operating with negative cash flow and an alarmingly stretched price-to-sales (P/S) multiple of more than 700x.
With actual power delivery and associated data center cash flow still about a year and a half away, the firm’s share price remains vulnerable to short-term pullbacks, volatility, and execution delays.
Investors should note, however, that Wall Street firms still recommend aggressive growth investors to own NUAI shares for the long term.
The consensus rating on New Era Energy sits at “Strong Buy,” with the mean price target of roughly $10.67 indicating potential upside of another 30% from here.
