Sunrise Communications Mulls Layoffs Under Planned Transformation Program

The Swiss telecommunications services company, which will also review its supplier contracts, will conduct a consultation process on the potential layoffs with staff representatives and the Syndicom trade union in the fourth quarter. Any cuts would largely exclude employees in shops, sales and customer service. Sunrise is planning a transformation program to realign its operating model to anticipate emerging market and technology developments, strengthen its execution capabilities and market position as well as deliver substantial mid-term cost savings.
