Novo's CagriSema Shows 'Significant' Weight Loss in Late-stage Trials

06:52 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Novo Nordisk's (NOVO-B.CO) CagriSema, a combination of cagrilintide and semaglutide, delivered "significant and clinically meaningful" weight loss in two phase 3 trials involving adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity. In the Reimagine 5 study of adults with type 2 diabetes, a once-weekly 1-milligram dose of CagriSema showed an estimated average weight loss of 12.4%, compared with 9.1% for a 5-milligram dose of tirzepatide, according to a Monday release from the Danish drugmaker. Meanwhile, the Reimagine 9 trial showed that CagriSema achieved a 21% weight reduction among participants with obesity, compared with 2% for placebo.
