According to Iranian media reports on September 20, Iran has sealed the French Language Teaching Center under the French Embassy in Iran based on national security considerations and judicial instructions issued by the Tehran Attorney General's Office. According to Iran's official statement, the French teaching center involved “has been operating in violation of regulations for many years in the name of teaching foreign languages”. Despite receiving several rectification notices requiring formal qualifications, it has never implemented compliance requirements. Iran also accused the center of “engaging in activities that endanger Iran's culture and national security,” including screening, building a network of personnel, and facilitating the departure of Iranian technical personnel. The French side has refuted such accusations many times before, and said on the evening of September 20 that it will officially summon Iran's ambassador to France and introduce corresponding countermeasures. According to reports, Iranian Foreign Minister Alagzi and French Foreign Minister Barrow are scheduled to meet in New York on September 22 local time while attending the 81st UN General Assembly High Level Week.
