04:53 AM EDT, 09/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti's statement) Mubadala Investment has started talks for a potential minority investment in Genoa, Italy-based power generation equipment manufacturer Ansaldo Energia, Corriere della Sera reported on Sunday, citing multiple sources. Abu Dhabi's wealth fund reportedly expressed interest in a transaction with Italian financial services provider Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which controls CDP Equity, the owner of a 99.6% stake in Ansaldo. The report noted that the wealth fund is the frontrunner among several Gulf investors that have expressed interest in Ansaldo. It added that the structure of the transaction being discussed is still being finalized, with CDP Equity planning to retain majority control in the group amid a deal. Cassa Depositi e Prestiti declined to comment when reached by MT Newswires, while Mubadala and Ansaldo did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
