Overseas interest rate hikes have not changed the relatively independent trend of China's bond market. On September 18, all major domestic 30-year, 10-year and 5-year treasury bond futures contracts rose, leading the way; in the cash market, the yield on active 10-year treasury bonds declined to 1.676%. Industry insiders believe that differences in economic fundamentals and monetary policy expectations between China and foreign countries, as well as the allocation requirements of banks, insurance and other institutions, have supported the performance of the domestic bond market. “Currently, institutions generally believe that the impact of peripheral interest rate hikes on the domestic bond market is limited.” A treasury bond futures investment manager told the Shanghai Securities News reporter that China's monetary policy insists on “putting me at the center”. The rise in overseas interest rates does not mean that domestic interest rates need to be adjusted simultaneously, and the market's bullish sentiment is still strong.
