Have Ichor Holdings Insiders Been Selling Stock?

Simply Wall St·09/18/2026 10:11:42
Listen to the news

We wouldn't blame Ichor Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ:ICHR) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Iain MacKenzie, the Independent Chairman recently netted about US$1.0m selling shares at an average price of US$50.66. That sale reduced their total holding by 17% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

Ichor Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Independent Director, Laura Black, sold US$1.5m worth of shares at a price of US$75.02 per share. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$52.96). So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it.

All up, insiders sold more shares in Ichor Holdings than they bought, over the last year. Insider Ownership

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Ichor Holdings insiders own about US$36m worth of shares. That equates to 1.9% of the company. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.

So What Do The Ichor Holdings Insider Transactions Indicate?

An insider sold stock recently, but they haven't been buying. Despite some insider buying, the longer term picture doesn't make us feel much more positive. Insiders own shares, but we're still pretty cautious, given the history of sales. We'd practice some caution before buying! So these insider transactions can help us build a thesis about the stock, but it's also worthwhile knowing the risks facing this company.
