05:53 AM EDT, 09/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Swiss consumer goods giant Nestlé's (NESN.SW) unit is facing legal action in India over alleged breaches tied to product claims and quality standards for infant nutrition products. The Indian Food Safety and Standards Authority reviewed promotional material available on e-commerce platforms and found that claims made for NAN Excella Pro Stage 1 and Lactogen Pro 1 did not comply with regulations governing foods for infant nutrition, the regulator said in an Instagram post Friday. Meanwhile, laboratory testing found a sample of follow-up formula produced by Nestlé India to be substandard for biotin content, with a referral laboratory later confirming that it failed to meet prescribed requirements. Nestle did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
