EMS-Chemie Denies Media Report of Trading With Sanctioned Russian Companies

04:18 AM EDT, 09/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- EMS-Chemie (EMSN.SW) said Thursday that Swiss media outlet Blick Online's report about its subsidiaries selling products to sanctioned Russian arms companies is "false." The polymer and specialty chemicals company added that it is "not involved in the arms industry" and that the group's business in Russia accounts for less than 1% of its overall revenue. It also noted that Switzerland's Neutrality Initiative, a policy up for a vote on Sept. 27 aimed at strictly defining the nation's economic and military neutrality, is "irrelevant" to its business. Blick Online, in a same-day report, cited magazine Republik as saying EMS-Chemie's subsidiaries traded with companies that provide weapons, military vehicles, and funding to Russia's defense sector.
