Two small oil fields in Libya have resumed production. Earlier this week, a security force member closed the valve in response to a request for a salary increase and has now reopened it. Libyan National Petroleum Corporation Chairman Masood Suleiman told Bloomberg on Wednesday that the valves had been restarted and production had returned to normal levels. He doesn't anticipate another production stoppage. Oil facility security personnel responsible for guarding the Libyan oil field, oil pipeline and terminal shut down the Hamada-Zawiyah main pipeline valves on Tuesday, causing the Hamada oil field, Tahala oil field, and the NC5 pumping station to stop production. The Libyan National Petroleum Company has previously warned that if supply disruptions continue or spread to other facilities, the company may declare force majeure.
