Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, revealed that he currently lives in an Airstream trailer and is currently supervising Xai's largest expansion project to date. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk's net worth reached 917 billion US dollars; in June of this year, he briefly became the world's first trillionaire, and he maintained this status for 12 days. This week, while recording the “All-In” podcast, Musk said that he was living in this new “palace,” and that SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwyne Shotwell was also involved in the recording. Musk is based in Memphis because XAI is speeding up the expansion of the Colossus giant supercomputing center. This supercomputing brought massive computing power, and xAI also leased surplus computing power to Google and Anthropic to win multi-billion dollar cooperation orders. The project was launched in 2024 to provide computing power for XAI's big model Grok. The first phase of the project is said to have taken only 122 days to complete. Although the idea of building a data center in space is still far off, Memphis has now become the core location for xAI's terrestrial computing infrastructure. At the end of July, the company announced that it will build a fourth data center Minihard to expand existing computing power facilities. Musk did not reveal the exact model of this Airstream motorhome. This aluminum camper has an integrated sleeping area, kitchen, and toilet in just 16 feet of space.
