On September 17, the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Traditional Medicine Forum opened in Nanchang, Jiangxi. Shen Yueyue, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the SCO Committee on Good-Neighbourly Cooperation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Shen Yueyue said that holding this forum under the theme of “Smart Traditional Medicine to Build People's Health” is a practical action to implement President Xi Jinping's important speech and the consensus of the heads of member states.
