Oxford Nanopore Wins Preliminary Injunction Against MGI Tech Over Patent Dispute

03:10 AM EDT, 09/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT.L) secured a preliminary injunction from a Unified Patent Court division against MGI Tech related to a patent dispute over its sequencing systems. Under the order, MGI Tech is prohibited from making, offering, and importing the cyclone sequencing systems and related flow cells in Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the UK, and Ireland, where the injunction applies only to systems used with a flow cell, according to a Wednesday filing. The British molecular sensing technology company said MGI Tech's cyclone sequencing systems infringed two of its patents, citing plans to further seek a permanent injunction.
