Recently, the research institute TrendForce Jibang Consulting released the 2026 Q2 Global Top Ten Foundry Report. The report shows that the total output value of the top ten largest foundries was about US$53.49 billion, an increase of 11.5% per quarter, and reached a new high. Among them, TSMC continued to rank first with revenue of US$40.2 billion and market share of 72.5%, while Samsung Foundry and SMIC ranked second and third respectively. The four to six are UMC, GF, and Huahong Group respectively. The ranking of the top six manufacturers has remained completely stable since 2024Q1, and there have been no changes. It is worth noting that the revenue gap between Samsung Foundry and SMIC quickly narrowed from about US$700 million in Q1 to less than US$260 million, leaving only 0.5 percentage point in market share gap. Looking at the longer-term dimension, behind the data, the two companies showed very different growth momentum.
