Glencore to Contest Radiant World's $2 Billion Lawsuit

11:49 PM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Glencore (GLEN.L, GLN.JO) said Tuesday it will contest the $2 billion lawsuit filed by Radiant World and Sapphire Minmetals, alleging the companies sent falsified documents and communications to financial institutions. Iron ore trader Radiant World alleged that the commodities giant sought to keep the "true nature" of their private arrangements and trading relationship out of its audited records, the London Financial Times reported the same day, citing the lawsuit. Glencore said it had confirmed evidence that Radiant World and its associated companies sent falsified invoices and contracts, as well as fabricated emails purportedly from Glencore personnel, to several financial institutions. Glencore has cut all ties and exited obligations with Radiant World "These claims are meritless and we will contest them vigorously," Glencore said in a release.
